Meet Dr. Nicole...
Nicole Harder, Ph.D.
Doctor of Philosophy
Dr. Harder embarked on the journey of becoming a Psychologist long before attending college, when she gained an understanding of what it is to be empowered by one's own capacity for change. Nicole's gentle inquisitiveness and listening skills have helped many patients discover new perspectives.
Nicole attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota after high school, where she obtained a B.A. in Psychology and Social Work. After a few years of working in the field an M.A. in Forensic Psychology at the University of Denver followed, and she obtained her Ph.D. at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. Dr. Harder is a member of the American Psychological Association, and specializes in the treatment of serious emotional disturbances as well as psychological testing. She has worked in an array of outpatient settings including community mental health clinics, public institutions and private practices. Dr. Harder also heads the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group with Dr. Bradley Wajda and offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) psychotherapy for a variety of psychological problems. Dr. Harder also specializes in treating the more challenging conditions- such as borderline personality disorder and substance abuse.
When she isn't working with patients, Dr. Harder is an avid skier in the winter and swimmer during the summer. She values meaningful relationships in both her professional and personal life. Dr. Harder firmly believes that the number one curative factor in psychotherapy is the relationship between the clinician and patient.
